The Southern Californian, Belinda Carlisle, is best remembered for her role as the lead singer for the 1980s sensation - the Go-Gos. It was the first truly successful all-girl band and a mainstay of the early 80s New Wave movement.
In '85, the Go-Gos disbanded, and Belinda Carlisle went solo, eventually selling 7 million albums with such hits as "Mad About You,""Heaven is a place on Earth,"and "Circle in the Sand."
In '86 , Carlisle, who was from a rather poor family background, married into Hollywood nobility. She wed Morgan Mason, the multimillionaire son of British-American actor James Mason. Her husband Morgan was - at the time - an aide to President Ronald Reagan.
Together they had a son, who is now a gay activist, and have remained married for 26 years - a rarity in Hollywood, which she attributes to having separate bedrooms.
Now 61, Carlisle is remarkably well preserved for a woman of those years - very possibly a tribute to the efficacy of Hollywood plastic surgeons and body sculptors.
Last summer, Belinda Carlisle headlined a music festival in Norway.
