And although it wasn't a New Year's event, we're also showcasing Ella Endlich's elegantly festive performance of her hit, Adrenaline, at the 2016 Starnacht open air concert in Neuseidler See, Austria.
Americans are approaching 2017 with a new level of optimism, and soaring stock prices in the wake of Donald Trump's election to the Presidency.
Britain, with its popular referendum to leave the EU, and Italy with the emergence of a new reform, independence-oriented government also have cause for optimism as does France, with the imminent emergence of a serious nationalistic administration.
Not so for Germans and Austrians, who have endured a series of attacks on their citizens, due to the 3rd World refugee influx. Germany, actually even cancelled a number of traditional New Year's Eve celebrations for fear of terrorist violence.
But the ever-optimistic schlager world marches on and will continue to produce new and dynamic musical offerings in 2017, which the Chicago Schlager Music Review will faithfully continue to chronicle, as we have in the preceding 5 years.
